It must be very hard to chip your way out of an eggshell with only your little beak. And it's not like you've even got a lot of room to work on it! It's one of natures miracles taking place. Every now and then, we hear him cheeping, he sounds exactly like one of those squeaky toys!
He's now progressed to this. It looks like he's chipping his way slowly around the end of the eggshell. He's moving faster now, so I'm guessing we'll have a little chick before night tonight. The other two eggs that have cracked the shell haven't progressed any further yet, but I'm sure they will come in time. What an exciting experience for all of us!
